So some of you may know about Shane and Maria's "addiction" to orchids. It was like a competition between the 2 of them on who could have the most, the most unique, etc.
Orchids are very funny plants and difficult to take care of. Shane had about 30 of them and of those only one plant bloomed a 2nd time. Its very hard to get them to do that.
When Shane got sick again in May, we gave all of his orchids to his best friend Jacob (I couldn't take care of them being my thumb is the exact opposite of green).
So now the competition has begun between Maria and Jacob.
This picture here is one of Maria's orchids. Right after Shane passed away, it made these buds. We like to think he had something to do with it. She's got one other plant that looks like it will make flowers too.
The battle has begun!
